About
In ancient Japan, foxes were believed to be messengers of the gods. They were often seen as benevolent creatures, and statues of foxes can be found at many Inari shrines. Inari shrines are dedicated to Inari, the god of good harvest. They are often found near rice fields and other agricultural areas.
